Grading
Your first BLG submission: prepare and pack it properly
A calm, step-by-step checklist for getting cards from your collection into the Black Label Grading system.
Create the order before sending cards
Select the grader and service level on Black Label Grading’s ordering platform first. Use a realistic estimated graded value because the service tier can affect both charges and cover. Complete payment, retain the order number and follow the address supplied with the order.
Enter UKCARDSHOW at checkout to receive 5% off your BLG order.
Do not send an anonymous parcel. BLG requires a valid order number so the cards can be matched to you when checked in.
Use the right card protection
BLG instructs customers to place each card in a clear penny sleeve and a suitable semi-rigid holder such as a Card Saver I. This lets the card stay protected while remaining practical for the submission team to handle.
- Use a fresh, clean penny sleeve with no grit inside.
- Slide the card in gently; never force a tight sleeve over a corner.
- Place the sleeved card into a semi-rigid holder.
- Keep cards in the same order as the online submission.
- Do not use screw-downs, magnetic cases or top loaders unless BLG specifically instructs you to.
Build a parcel that cannot move
Sandwich the holders between pieces of clean cardboard slightly larger than the cards, then secure the bundle without placing adhesive directly on a holder. Use a rigid outer box with void fill so the bundle cannot slide or strike an edge.
Put the order number inside the parcel, use tracked delivery appropriate to the value you are sending and keep photographs of the cards, packed bundle and sealed parcel for your records.
Know when responsibility changes
A courier scan marked delivered is not the same as BLG checking in the contents. BLG considers cards received once the parcel has been physically opened and logged against the order. Watch for that confirmation and use the order platform for progress updates.
